The Richmond Promise is a community-wide college success initiative created to build a college going and graduating culture throughout the City of Richmond. The Richmond Promise was established in 2014 by the Richmond City Council, which set aside $35 million from a $90 million community benefits agreement with the Chevron Richmond Refinery. Through a college scholarship, collaborative cross-sector partnerships, and supportive programming, the Richmond Promise aims to ensure all students in Richmond excel to and through higher education, reach their career goals, and become changemaking leaders in the Richmond community. Additionally, Richmond Promise is launching a mentorship pilot for their out-ofstate college students. This mentorship opportunity is largely tech-based, and will be instrumental in supporting Richmond students attending college. The Richmond Promise is looking for passionate local leaders to mentor these students. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, visit www.tinyurl.com/promisementor.

On October 1, Richmond Promise will launch the 2018/19 scholarship with a workshop for students and their families to work on the financial aid and scholarship applications. See more details and reserve your spot by visiting www.tinyurl.com/promisekickoff
